Math

The Mathematics Program is divided into 4 Categories: Number Concepts and Operations, Pattern and Relations, Shape and Space Measurement, Shape and Space Geometry and Transformation and finally Statistics and Probability.

In the Number Concepts and Operations, students will represent, compare and order numbers to 1000(grade 3) or 10000 (grade 4). They will add and subtract 2 and 3 digit numerals, multiply 2  digit by 1 digit and divide 2 digits by 1 digit. They will use the operations to solve problems using different strategies. They will also learn to represent fractions and decimals less than or equal to one.

In Patterns and Relations, the students will learn to identify, describe, reproduce and represent a pattern. They will solve one step equations involving a symbol to represent an unknown number.

In Shape and space, the students will learn to calculate the area of a regular and irregular 2-Dshapes. They will construct rectangular and triangular prisms.

In Statistics and Probability, they will compare, explain, create and answer questions about a bar graph.

There will be a quiz after each concept to verify  students' understanding.
